This album is a fantasy speculation on one of the poems of the Elder Edda ¬- The Lay of Sigrdrifa. The album focuses on the parts of the poem which deal with the wake of Valkyrie from slumber and her tale of Runes to Sigurd. In this poem the Valkyrie is not identic to Brynhild. The most part of the poem consists of instruction in the art of Runes. This knowledge is delivered by Sigrdrifa because while being asleep, her soul wondered through other worlds and thus acquired secret wisdom.
